Generally speaking, after doing this, your new computer Firefox looks almost exactly like your old computer Firefox. I've posted steps for this in the past, but I'll need to look it up.
#Slimjet export bookmarks install#
The main issue upon a fresh install of Slimjet has always been that my favicons disappear and are replaced by generic favicons.

Remind me to think twice before "updating" again.ĭev wrote:Its a good idea to back up your favicons, favicons-journal, bookmarks.bak files from your user data folder and to export your bookmarks to a folder on your computer bookmarks.html file and if you use google sync they will be there to as a backupĭev, if I backup the favicons, favicons-journal, bookmarks and bookmarks.bak files and then import them back into my User Data/Default directory, then everything should appear normal as far as my bookmarks and favicons are concerned after I do a fresh install, correct ? Trust me, I always backup my bookmarks to an html file and I also just happen to use the XMarks Bookmarks Synchronizer extension as I also sync my bookmarks between three browsers. Now I'm back to good old Slimjet 10.0.1 and it seems more or less OK here again for now. The main thing want is what browsers used to have by default, a nice bookmark sidebar! Comodo Ice Dragon shows some promise, and possibly Maxthon. I'll try going back to 10.0.1 if I can, but I've been trying out new browsers, most of which I am finding frustrating.

Not good because most aren't marked and I just recognize them by their design. Anyway I reinstalled 10.0.8 and it seemed to be working good again last night but today all of the icons, both on my bookmark panel on the left and the top, are not rendering. Ever since I "updated" from 110.0.1.0 to 11 I've been having all kinds of issues with Slimjet which I've talked about in my "How do I upgrade." thread, including "favicons" - so is that what they're called? - on my bookmark bar, which now seem to be totally coordinated and reflective of my 4,000 + bookmarks instead of showing only my most often used favorites which is the way I had it before.
